When it comes to choosing an instrument to learn, both children and adults with hearing loss should consider their hearing loss in the decision making process. A hearing loss will both affect how you hear that instrument, and potentially how quickly you can increase your playing ability, but also that the musician is at risk for further hearing loss due to noise exposure (just like any other musician, with or without hearing loss).
