19 Nov The Sights and Sounds of Halifax Sports Teams
Whether you are an avid sports fan, or are just out for an entertaining evening with friends, the Fall/Winter is a great time to be attending sporting events in Halifax. Beyond our many high school sports games, and our university athletics, Halifax is proud to have the Halifax Mooseheads and the Halifax Rainmen call our city home. The Halifax Mooseheads are our ice hockey team, and their season is off to an incredible start as they sit at the top of the standings in the QMJHL. The Halifax Rainmen are our professional basketball team, and they play a fast-paced, exciting game that is sure to entertain you with every dunk, steal, and 3 point shot.
Attending these sporting events is an excellent way to show your support for these local sports teams. The Metro Center is a difficult listening envionment, so you may have trouble hearing your friend when the whistles blow or the fans cheer. If you’re finding the arena too loud, sometimes individuals will wear hearing protection to reduce the noise slightly and protect their hearing. If you’re finding that you can’t understand what your friend is saying to you, turn and face your partner so you can use visual cues for help. If you wear hearing aids and attend games regularly, check with your audiologist to see if they can help with any troubles you may encounter.
