08 Feb Overheard in the Audiologist's office: Valentine's edition.
In the spirit of valentine’s day, here are a few quotes on relationships heard in the offices of Hearing Institute Atlantic. While these are real patients, names are not provided for privacy reasons!
The Sweet
“My wife and I have been married for 67 years. We have 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. We had a full house at Christmas, and until I put my new hearing aids on Christmas morning, I didn’t realize just how lucky I truly am.”
When asking the wife of a man just fit with hearing aids to speak to him, she said “I love you more today than yesterday” to which he responded with no hesitation, “and i’ll love you tomorrow more than I do today”. It was something they had always shared when they were newlyweds, but he stopped hearing the “sweet nothings” and for years never responded to her loving words appropriately.
The Honest
“Did you know that you do more than just help people hear better? You’ve reconnected me with my husband, and that is priceless”.
“I got to a point where everytime I wanted to talk to my husband, I anticipated frustration. He could hear me, but not clearly. Now I look forward to calling my husband, or sharing our days over dinner.”
