We hear with our brains and music has the potential to change the way we hear.
Music strengthens the pathways in the brain that we use to hear. Music training from an early age results in better performance in noise, better working memory and possibly the ability to learn a new language. A recent study found that musicians were 40% better at hearing in noise than non-musicians. If you are a musician keep on playing as it may help your ability to hear down the road.
