Many people do not know that both the hearing mechanism and the balance mechanism are both part of the ear. Different organs process hearing than process balance, but they share the same fluids. Many patients have reported that they felt their balance was “off” when their hearing deteriorated, but minimal reserach was available to document the relationship between balance and hearing.
