14 Sep Back to Basics: Bluetooth Compatibility with Cell Phones
What is Bluetooth Compatibliity?
This technology uses a Bluetooth or wireless streaming device (either worn around the neck or kept in the pocket) to receive sound from Bluetooth transmitters and send the sound to the hearing aids. For example, the streaming device will pick up the Bluetooth signal from a cell phone and directly transmit the signal to your hearing aids.
Very recently, a hearing aid that does not require the use of a streaming device became available. This allows direct from the device to hearing aid streaming to occur, eliminating the accessory device.
What does it mean for the user?
Your hearing aids can be used as a hands-free cell phone tool as well. This allows you to talk and drive safely, talk and clean the house, etc. It is a very nice feature that ensures a good quality phone signal and allows the use of your hands during a phone call.
