Nona has been practicing audiology since 1988 in both hospital and private practice settings. She graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Audiology from Dalhousie University and holds a Bachelor of Child Studies in Developmental Disabilities (with Distinction) from Mount Saint Vincent University.

Nona has written regular Hearing Health Care columns in many local publications and has appeared on several television shows as an expert in the field of audiology. Nona is a founding member of the Board of Director’s and past President of Sounds+. She has been actively involved with this group since its’ inception in 1993.

Nona lives in Halifax with her husband and their two children. Nona’s love of audiology and her ability to relate to people enables her to successfully succeed in maximizing her patients’ hearing abilities.

Patricia has been practicing audiology for the past 13 years in the Halifax area and now holds a Doctorate of Audiology in the field, graduating from the Salus University of Pennsylvania. Patricia also has a Masters of Science in Audiology from Dalhousie University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with honours, from St. Mary’s University.

Patricia takes an active role in the Sounds + professional association, serving as secretary, treasurer and conference committee organizer. She enjoys volunteering her time in promoting the practice of audiology by speaking with and presenting to various clubs and seniors groups around the city. Patricia has been practicing in the Clayton Park area for more than 6 years and has built a solid reputation with all those she serves, often seeing her patients’ family and friends as direct referrals.

Patricia was born and raised in Halifax. She enjoys playing the piano and spending time with her son and family. Patricia’s quiet demeanour, determination to excel in her chosen field of audiology and attention to detail, provide her patients with expert audiology service and satisfaction. Her patients are treated to accurate hearing evaluations, appropriate hearing aid selections and fittings and a wealth of hearing health care information.

Allison has been an audiologist since 1999, with experience in both hospital and private practice settings. After graduating from Dalhousie University’s School of Human Communication Disorders with a Master of Science in Audiology, Allison spent the first 4 years of her career working in Toronto, before having the opportunity to move back to Nova Scotia. Allison also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Francis Xavier University.

She currently lives in Halifax with her husband and two young daughters. Allison is passionate about helping people with their hearing health care needs and is pleased to have joined the team in our Gladstone office.

Kim has been practicing clinical audiology for a number of years since completing her Master of Science Degree in Audiology at Dalhousie’s School of Human Communication Disorders. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Upon graduation Kim spent 3 years working in private practice in Ontario, and has also worked in a hospital setting. Originally from Newfoundland, Kim is happily making a permanent home here in the Maritimes with her husband and adoring dog. Kim enjoys cooking, fitness and spending time with friends and family.

Kim is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue her professional career with Hearing Institute Atlantic and to also stay involved at Dalhousie University where she will be lecturing to audiology students pursuing their professional studies. Kim’s sincere approach to audiology ensures that her patients receive the best hearing health care, tailored to their individual lifestyle and listening needs.

Beth has practised in clinical audiology since 1989 in both hospital and private practice settings. Beth has a Masters of Science in Audiology, a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Dalhousie University. She is an active member of Sounds+ and volunteers on several committees dedicated to professional development.

Beth was born and raised in Dartmouth and lives there with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys directing musical plays, playing the piano and being actively involved with her family. Beth’s honest and open approach to her patients and dedication to the field of audiology, enhances her ability to better serve her patients.

Kaitlin graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Masters degree of Clinical Science in Audiology, and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Dalhousie University. Kaitlin is passionate about the field of audiology and helping people to hear better.
Kaitlin is a member of the professional organization Sounds+ and also maintains membership in several other professional organizations. Kaitlin believes in educating the public on the importance of hearing preservation and enjoys hosting education sessions.
Although new to the Hearing Institute Atlantic team, she is not new to Dartmouth. Born in New Brunswick, Kaitlin has lived the majority of her life in Dartmouth and is pleased to be both living and working in the area. She enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time with her soon-to-be husband.

Carolyn is a graduate of Montreal’s McGill University with a Master of Science degree in Audiology. Carolyn has over 20 years audiology experience in both educational and hospital settings, private practice and academia. She lives in Halifax with her husband and two children.

Carolyn greatly enjoys combining her love of audiology with her delight in meeting and working with many different people. Carolyn’s mother had a severe hearing loss and she has intimate experience with the challenges faced by people who have a hearing loss and their families.

Sarah is dedicated to her career in audiology and helping others to hear better. Her hobbies include reading, rowing and other outdoor activities. Sarah’s warmth and shining personality ensure that all who meet her will want to get to know her.

Mary comes to us with a substantial background in the finance industry, including customer service, sales, lending and brokering. Enthusiasm for learning and attention to detail are her strengths, along with kindness and compassion. She believes knowledge and understanding are the keys to understanding hearing loss and its effect on people and families.

Mary was born and raised in Halifax. She enjoys entertaining family and friends, sports and music. She has developed excellent listening skills thanks to her three beautiful daughters. Mary is passionate about the hearing health industry and looks forward to helping patients with their hearing health needs.

Jennifer has over 25 years of experience in a variety of hearing health care settings. Jennifer graduated as a Hearing Instrument Specialist from Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology. She has also earned and maintains a Practical Nursing Diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College. Jennifer previously worked in Ontario at the Canadian Hearing Society and the North Bay Audiology Clinic before moving to Nova Scotia in 1998.

Jennifer lives with her husband and son and daughter twins, on Porter’s Lake. She enjoys water sports and is involved with her children’s multiple sports endeavours. Jennifer’s unlimited patience, hearing health care knowledge and a refreshing sense of humour make her a favourite with her clients.

Christina comes to Hearing Institute Atlantic with extensive experience in business administration and customer service. She has a Bachelor in Business Administration (Finance) from Mount Saint Vincent University and a Certificate in Human Resource Management from Saint Mary’s University.

Christina lives in Bedford with her husband and daughter. Christina loves being a mother, is an avid stamp collector and enjoys the hunt of family genealogy and histories. Christina’s organizational skills, communication abilities and sincere personal warmth ensures that Hearing Institute Atlantic’s clients are treated to customer service at its’ best!

Lauren was born and raised in Bedford, NS and now lives with her husband Trevor in Halifax. After graduating from St. Francis Xavier with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, a minor in Women’s Studies and a concentration in Criminal Justice, Lauren spent a year teaching English in South Korea. Having returned home in 2006 and realizing her passion for helping others, Lauren dedicated her time working with children and young adults with varying complexities of developmental disabilities. Her strong commitment to helping others, compassion for people with varying needs and proven communication skills make Lauren a valuable addition to the Hearing Institute Atlantic family.

Kim Bonvie has joined our team at the new Martello Street office. We are very excited to have opened such a beautiful office in the heart of downtown Halifax. Kim brings over 20 years of Customer Service Excellence most recently from a long-term career at The Bay. Our patients will enjoy her professional, yet warm manner and gentle smile, and feel at ease in her care.

Born and raised in Halifax, Kim and her husband Kelvin continue to make Halifax their home and enjoy reading, walking, camping, travelling, and sharing valuable time with family and friends. Kim looks forward to being a part of the Hearing Institute Atlantic family for many years to come.

Rhonda graduated from the University of Cape Breton with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Community Studies. She also completed a Diploma of Applied Arts in Community Studies from Western Community College in Newfoundland.

Rhonda and her husband live in Hatchet Lake with their young children. She enjoys outdoor wilderness camping, scrapbooking and small remodelling jobs. Rhonda’s warm smile and friendly manner is a welcome greeting for all our clients.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Amy lives in Oakfield with her husband and 2 young sons.
